Regular meetings of the City of San Elizario Council are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm at Council Chambers, located at 12004 Socorro Rd., Suite B. The agenda is posted at City Hall and here at least 72 hours in advance of the meetings.

ISELA REYES

MAYOR

Mayor Isela Reyes is proud to be born and raised in San Elizario. A breast cancer survivor, she has dedicated more than 10-years of her life to bring awareness and assist survivors and their families through her 501c3, “Riding for Boobs.” In addition, Mayor Reyes, along with her Garcia Enriquez Middle School Sweetheart, Jason Reyes, owns Pistoleros del Adobe Cantina & Grill, a premier restaurant and event venue in the heart of San Elizario’s Historic District. She is also the 2021 San Elizario High School Honored Ex. Mayor Reyes is thankful for the love and support of her family, which also includes children Jenna and Darren, and considers herself blessed to share a life with them, along with their pot belly pig, four dogs and a cat. As Mayor, she will always put constituent concerns first, work towards real solutions for long-standing issues and be the best ambassador possible for the City of San Elizario.

LETICIA MIRANDA

ALDERPERSON PLACE 1

Alderperson Miranda is a fourth generation San Elizarian. She is a retired social services advocate. She was the chair of the finance committee during the successful effort to incorporate San Elizario and her skills in organization and accounting have carried through as she continues to manage a majority of the City of San Elizario’s finances. Her primary goal on Council is to advocate on behalf of the City’s constituents and she participates in continuing education courses to better serve her position. Alderperson Miranda is the proud mother of a teenage daughter, the City of San Elizario’s hardest working, unofficial intern.

DAVID CANTU

ALDERPERSON PLACE 2

Alderman Cantu is an educator with a Masters Degree in Professional Technical Education. He works for the San Elizario Independent School District as a substitute teacher and has been able to introduce the “new city” to many of our young students. He has been a resident of San Elizario for over 40 years and was part of the committee to incorporate San Elizario. Alderman Cantu heads up the Grants Steering Committee, making crucial decisions on which grants to pursue and facilitating the research and work necessary to obtain funding to improve the quality of life for San Elizario residents while at the same time, easing the cost required by the City.

LORENZO E. LEYVA SR.

ALDERPERSON PLACE 3

Alderperson Leyva grew up in the City of San Elizario. He attended Alarcon Elementary, GEMS and San Elizario High School. From the time he was legally able to, he became a public servant and has served the community of San Elizario and others in different capacities to include being a volunteer firefighter and EMT. He has been a Texas Peace Officer for 15 years and is a member of the prestigious Knights of Columbus. He is a husband to his wife Melissa of 19 years and father of two sons, Arturo and Lorenzo. He is a family man with a lifetime commitment to publicly serving his beloved community.

ANTONIO FLORES

ALDERPERSON PLACE 4

Alderperson, Flores was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in San Elizario for over 43 years. Flores attended Alarcon Elementary, GEMS and San Elizario High School. He has served the community so far through coaching his prior team San Elizario Little Eagles for over 4 years. As serving as a public servant Flores was active in the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of San Elizario Council for a year. He is a husband to wife Celestina Flores and father and grandfather of four children and two grandchildren. Dominique, Alejandra, Brisa and Diego. Grandchildren: Olivia and Claritza. He is a family man and has committed to helping and serving his beautiful community of San Elizario through office and as a citizen.
